On Sunday 24th September the High Sheriff and her team successfully completed the Leicestershire 3 Peaks Challenge in aid of Leicester’s Charity Link with the team raising £3,322 so far. Thank you so much to everyone who donated.
The 16-mile challenge was well supported with over 100 participants. It was extremely well organised by the Charity Link team, who were there to guide teams around the route and to provide refreshments and offer encouragement! Whilst clouds and rain covered Bardon Hill, the highest peak at 912 feet, the weather then improved allowing stunning views of Leicestershire from the heights of Bradgate Park and from Beacon Hill.
It was a great day, and while legs and feet may have been sore, there was a real sense of achievement. Thank you to all those fantastic people who took part helping such a wonderful charity, whose role providing essential items, (including food, clothing, beds, fridges, and cookers), is such a ‘lifeline’ to those suffering hardship and crisis.
