High Sheriff’s Award

The High Sheriff’s Award is a way of recognising people and groups who have made outstanding contributions to their communities in Leicestershire.

And I recently presented one such award to the chairman of the organising committee of Leicestershire Agricultural Society’s Leicestershire County Show, James Webb.

This year’s show took place over the Bank Holiday weekend at the Showground near Market Harborough. As always it provided a wonderful day out for families and an inspiring demonstration of rural life in the county.

James has been in the role of chairman for the last 20 years and he exemplifies the qualities of selflessness and commitment to the community that truly deserve a High Sheriff’s Award.

Congratulations to James and his team on the award and on organising another impressive county show this year.
