Battle of Britain service of thanksgiving

The Battle of Britain was a pivotal period of the Second World War, and I had the opportunity to mark and commemorate those events of 85 years ago at a service of thanksgiving. The service took place at St James the Greater Church in Leicester on Battle of Britain Sunday – September 21st. It was a poignant occasion to think about those who fought, to show our gratitude for their service and remember the lives lost. Also attending were HM Lord Lieutenant of Leicestershire Mike Kapur, and the Lord Mayor of Leicester Cllr Teresa Aldred and her Consort Maggie Corley. The service was organised by the RAF Association’s City of Leicester branch, which provided the Colour Party. RAF Cadets provided the honour guard.
