Armed Forces Covenant Event
The KuKu Connect business networking organisation held a special event in Leicester to mark the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day recently and I was invited to attend. The gathering attracted charity and business leaders from around Leicestershire, and it was an interesting opportunity to meet them and find out more about what they do.
The occasion was held at the Leicester Marriott Hotel in support of The Armed Forces Covenant. The Covenant seeks to ensure those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, as well as bereaved family members, are treated fairly.
Deputy Lieutenant Prof Ivan Browne OBE gave the loyal toast at the event, which was hosted by KuKu Connect founders Philip Brooks-Stephenson and Stephen Goddard.
