The High Sheriff can give a High Sheriff’s Award to recognise the work of individuals or community groups within, in this case, Leicestershire. The Awards are a way of recognising and celebrating the work of individuals and organisations within the County who have made outstanding contributions to the communities in which they live or work, and whose work might not otherwise attract appreciation from the normal sources.
Nominations are welcome for people who have made outstanding contributions to any aspect of community life.
Nominations are now invited and welcomed for the 2026 – 27 High Sheriff Awards. Nominations can be made by and for anyone who lives or works in Leicestershire, whether in the public, voluntary, charitable or private sectors.
All nominations will be treated in the strictest confidence. Nominees should not be informed that they have been nominated as it can be very disappointing to raise expectations that are not then met.
The High Sheriff Awards Nomination Process
The High Sheriff is delighted to receive nominations throughout his year which ends in April 2027. The deadline for nominations is Monday 1st March 2027. Successful nominees will be contacted and the High Sheriff Award will be conferred on dates to be confirmed.
