Chairman’s Civic Carol Service Harborough District

The High Sheriff was delighted to be invited by the Chairman of Harborough District Council, Councillor Barbara Johnson, to attend the Civic Carol Service. A collection was taken for the Chairman’s Charities, Leicestershire, and Rutland Air Ambulance, and LWA (Living without Abuse) and the work of the Baptist Church.

It was a festive evening with the service beginning with ‘Ding Dong Merrily on High’ sung by the Market Harborough Choral Society. The service was led throughout by the Reverend Christopher Brown, Pastor of the Market Harborough Baptist Church. It was wonderful to hear the tunes provided by the students from the Robert Smyth Academy.

It was a very happy evening with the opportunity, after the service, to indulge in mince pies and mulled wine. I would like to thank Barbara for being so welcoming.
