Christmas Day at The Bridge Homelessness to Hope in Leicester

The High Sheriff joined staff and volunteers from The Bridge Homelessness to Hope at the charity’s facility in Melton Road, Leicester, serving Christmas dinner to guests on Christmas Day.

It was an honour to thank all the dedicated staff and volunteers for their work year-round and their annual commitment to the city’s homeless community on Christmas Day. It was interesting to meet and speak to many of the guests.

Thank you also the team from Leicestershire Fire and Rescue who showed their support by visiting on the day. A fire appliance parked outside did momentarily raise concerns with some guests that Christmas dinner had gone up in smoke, but this was not the case! It was good to see them.

Based on Melton Street in Leicester, The Bridge Homelessness to Hope offers a range of specialist services to people experiencing homelessness in the city including mentoring and mental health & wellbeing support.
