Cross-county visit by the High Sheriff of Derbyshire

I spent the day with the High Sheriff of Derbyshire Sir Richard FitzHerbert on a tour of two high-profile destinations which connect our two counties. We visited the National Forest, which covers Leicestershire and Derbyshire as well as Staffordshire, and called in at the Conkers visitor attraction there. We also went to East Midlands Airport, an important passenger and freight hub for the region, visiting the Fire and Rescue service and Air Traffic Control. It was fascinating to see behind the scenes.
