The High Sheriff was honoured to present a Crown Court Commendation at the Chief Constable Awards. A Crown Court Commendation is an award given to police officers by a Judge for their dedication and hard work in getting a case ready for court, for the evidence to be presented, in most cases, before a jury.
Other Awards were made by the Lord Lieutenant and Chief Constable to police officers and members of the public carrying out unbelievable acts of bravery and selflessness to help others and keep us safe.
I am grateful for the honour of hearing these stories, it was completely humbling.
It was wonderful, as always, to talk to the award winners and their families afterwards.
