Leicestershire County Council Pre-driver Course

One of the biggest causes of death and serious injury for young people is road accidents. So I was pleased to visit the Leicestershire County Council Pre-driver Course at Mallory Park recently. It gives 16-year-olds the opportunity to drive a car under the supervision of a driving instructor. During the course they learn about the basics of controlling the car, the responsibilities of having passengers in your car, and also the life-changing consequences of poor driving that can happen as the result of a split-second loss of attention on the road. The training is supported by the Police and the Fire Service.
