Paul Lomas High Sheriff Award for his charity work in Syston

Paul Lomas was the recipient of a High Sheriff Award for his tireless work not just for Syston and District Volunteer Centre, but other charities in Syston.

Paul is chairman of the Syston and District Volunteer Centre, which is a Community Transport Charity operating for 40 years and which was recognised the Queens award for voluntary services in 2019 and was awarded The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee award for 2022.

Paul also chairs the mental health café that is in Syston every Thursday.

Paul is quite literally the glue that holds Syston’s charities together and enables them to continue to do great work in addressing issues such as loneliness, mental health and old-age. He devotes endless hours, bringing the community together at social events and entertainment to enhance lives.

Another surprise award leaving Paul speechless this time!
