Born and brought up in Leicestershire Henrietta went to Northumbria University, Newcastle where she read BSc(Hons) Applied Consumer Sciences. Henrietta then joined East Midlands Electricity plc working in both their shareholder and investor relations and the company secretariat. She then worked for Pedigree Petfoods, Melton Mowbray, with roles in biochemistry and public relations. Henrietta was also involved with a farming business whilst completing a MSc in Conservation Science at De Montfort University, Leicester (at the same time as renovating a house and being pregnant with twins!).
She is currently a trustee at the historic Harlaxton College, Grantham which is the British Campus of the University of Evansville and chairs their Advisory Council. Henrietta is also a trustee on the Board of the University of Evansville, Indiana, USA.
Henrietta is a patron of the charity CleanupUK, a litter picking charity. She has served as a Magistrate in Leicestershire since 2007 both on the adult criminal and youth benches.
She chaired her local Parish Council for 20 years. Henrietta currently sits on the steering group for No Going Back, a Livery Companies initiative supporting people from prison into employment on release.
Henrietta has been a member of the Melton Friends of Rainbows Children’s Hospice Committee for over 20 years who raise funds for the Hospice in Loughborough. They hold a quiz night annually in Melton Mowbray raising funds and also the hospice’s profile, spreading the word about its services to life limited young people and their families in the east midlands. She has also helped raised funds for her local church to replace the roof and for the DNRC (Defence and National Rehabilitation Centre) base in Nottinghamshire on the border with Leicestershire.
As a Liveryman of The Worshipful Company of Grocers in 2018 Henrietta became one of the first of two women to be elected to the Court of the Grocers Company in its over 600 year history. She currently sits on the Grocers Education and Charities Committee.
Henrietta married David, a Chartered Surveyor, in 1993 and they have twins, Harry and Libby born in 2000. She enjoys running, very amateur gardening, walking her dogs and the company of her friends.
