Susana Ashcroft High Sheriff Award for service to Girlguiding

Susie was nominated by the parents of the girls who attend Girl Guides. Susie has been a committed member of the Girlguiding community all her life and has volunteered for Girlguiding in Leicestershire for the last 24 years. She has held the position of District Commissioner for Girlguiding within Leicestershire for the last 6 years.

She founded the Long Whatton Rainbows in 2015 she then founded Crawshaw District Guides which merged with Hathern, Diseworth, Kegworth and Long Whatton Guides units.

Susie is also a long-term supporter of STEM emphasising to the Guides and Rainbows the importance of understanding how things work and the opportunities which are available to them often in male dominated industries.

She teaches the girls leadership skills, gives them confidence to try new things and discover more about themselves.
