Harby C of E Primary School

Wonderful to be in school, answering the excellent & myriad questions about what a High Sheriff is, why they exist, how they give back to society and to have a close look at the sword(s)! I hope in the future one of the children I met today will hold the ancient office of High Sheriff.…

D-Day in Harby

It was moving to lay a wreath at the War Memorial, as part of Harby C of E Primary School’s D-Day Act of Remembrance. Well done to Mrs Bye, the staff, Rev Paul and all the children for making it a poignant occasion, marking the sacrifice of previous generations to ensure our freedom.

Ye Olde Pork Pie Shoppe

A wonderful showcase for the artisan skills that High Leicestershire has been famous for and a major Melton Mowbray tourist attraction, which was reopened today after a 6 month refurbishment. Well done to all the team at Samworth Brothers!

A fascinating visit to a leading robot using milk producer. With the very wet winter, some farmers have had significant problems; the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution does excellent work, giving support to anyone who needs it. Thank you to everyone who put on the excellent evening.

Magistrates Courts

A fascinating morning, for me and my Police Cadet, being shown round the Courts and meeting many of the folk who keep the system running smoothly. Thank you to everyone who gave us their time and deal with those in society who come into contact with the law in all its various guises.

Thank you to Acting Governor Rachel Martindale for her time, to Karen for arranging the visit, to Aidan who showed us round, and to all the staff and prisoners that we met. And again thank you…

D-Day Service in Leicester Cathedral
