Voluntary Action South Leicestershire (VASL) Christmas Party in Market Harborough
I was invited to join the VASL team, hosted by Rohini, who were holding a lunch to celebrate all the amazing work the volunteers do across Leicestershire helping reduce loneliness and wellbeing of family carers and those who are isolated.
It was a privilege to thank them for the time give to helping and improving the lives of others.
There were some 50 volunteers, and I was privileged to hear the work they do which helps so many. The services and support they provide has such a positive effect on so many, particularly the regular contact VASL provides to those who often don’t get the chance to speak to others. The drivers also do a brilliant job helping get people to important appointments, shopping and to social events.
It was a very happy occasion and an opportunity for many to get together and celebrate. I was struck by how often I heard from the volunteers how satisfying they found the work they did. They are always looking for volunteers, so please do consider it or tell others.
Market Harborough Building Society very generously funded the Volunteer Christmas party for volunteers.
