Young Leicestershire

The High Sheriff had the opportunity hear about Young Leicestershire’s Award winning year and work to provide access to clubs for young people in Leicestershire at their AGM.

During the past year Young Leicestershire were awarded with the Queens Platinum Jubilee Award for Community and Business and also Embarks’ Business Charity Partnership of the Year Award for their work with Shoe Zone.

As well as celebrating the work they have done during the year to support young people across the city and county they also gave the following awards. 

Step Out Youth and Community were awarded, the Sir Timothy Brooks Award for Services to the Community by Young Leicestershire. The award was presented by Lord Lieutenant, Mr Kaupur OBE.

Jorja Till from New Parks Club for Young People, was presented with, Young Volunteer of the Year Award for her work on the Friday night SEND group from, Baroness Hazel Byford, DBE, DL .

Siobhan Hausmann from Green Towers in Hinckley won, adult volunteer of the year award from Young Leicestershire – presented by Richard Brooks, Chairman of Young Leicestershire.
